Assessments

The Gray Center provides psychoeducational evaluations and gifted assessments for children aged 3-21.  A psychoeducational evaluation integrates psychological and educational assessments, and assesses for learning disabilities (including dyslexia, dysgraphia and dyscalculia), ADHD, intellectual disability, and emotional disabilities such as anxiety and depression.

A psychoeducational evaluation may include:

  • A review of medical and educational records

  • Parent, teacher, and student interviews

  • Clinical observations and school-based observation (when indicated)

  • Assessment of intellect/cognition, academic skills, language, memory, problem-solving, attention, executive functioning, social skills, and/or emotional functioning

  • A written report, feedback session, and school collaboration

Counseling / Coaching:

Counseling can help support a child who is experiencing anxiety, overwhelm, and difficulties with self-concept or social stress.

We also offer executive functioning coaching, which helps children who have difficulty with attention, time management, work completion, and goal-directed persistence.

Special Education Consultation

We at the Gray Center have the background knowledge of working for a school system to help you navigate the special education process.  Whether you are just starting out and want full guidance through the IEP or Section 504 process, or just another set of eyes to look through your child’s school-based evaluations and existing IEP or 504 plan, we can help.  The Gray Center uses a collaborative approach to problem-solving with school districts.

IEE (Independent Educational Evaluation)

IEE’s are psychoeducational evaluations conducted at the district’s expense when parents and the district are not in agreement with the outcomes of the school-based evaluation.  IEE’s will be considered on an individual basis, and pricing will be made available to the school district.

Bookings for IEE's are coming soon, but are not available at this time.

Payment Policy

Fees for counseling, coaching, and consultation services are due at the time of service.  Assessment fees are due in two installments, 50% at time of first evaluation appointment and the remaining 50% at time of the intake meeting.  All services are conducted through private pay; we do not accept insurance at this time.  Payments are accepted via cash, check, or Venmo.
